Man from Westford arrested after troopers respond to a a report of dead animals on his property

(Westford, NY – March 21, 2017) On March 20, 2017, New York State Police at Oneonta were dispatched to a reported of two dead goats on property located at 674 County Highway 36, in the Town of Westford. 

During the course of the investigation it was revealed that owner of the property Stephen M. Pandelakis, age 45, of Westford, NY, had numerous dead animals including: a dog, a cat, a pig, two goats, six chicken and two ducks.  Troopers did locate two chickens that were alive but did not have any food or water.  Pandelakis was arrested on two felony counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, and 13 misdemeanor counts of Torturing, Injuring or Failure to feed an animal. 

His two remaining chickens were surrendered to another person for proper care. 

Pandelakis was issued appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Westford Court April 4, 2017.
