Ellenburg man arrested for the sexual abuse of a child

On March 23, 2017, State Police arrested Richard G. Willard, 65, of Ellenburg, for sexually abusing a child less than 14 years of age. Subsequent to the execution of a search warrant, Willard was charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Act 2nd Degree, a class D Felony, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, a class C Felony, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E Felony, one count of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, a class A Misdemeanor, one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A Misdemeanor, and one count of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.
Willard was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court, where he was remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. He is to reappear in the Town of Ellenburg Court on March 30, 2017, at 6 p.m.
