SP Batavia- Three vehicle collision with serious injuries
On March 23, 2017 at 9:35 a.m., Troopers responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Hwy 77 and State Hwy 63 in the Town of Alabama.  Investigation reveals that a 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer turned off Lewiston Road onto St-77 southbound.  A 2004 Mercury traveling southbound on St-77 failed to stop at the stop sign and went underneath the trailer of the semi, which severed the roof.  The operator of the Mercury, Donna L. Wolter, 69 suffered head injuries and the passenger, Purcil E. Buzard, 81 both of Medina, NY sustained severe injuries and was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.  The Mercury ended up striking a building and a 2000 Ford before coming to rest.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), NYSP Collision Reconstruction and NYSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit responded.

*UPDATE* Purcel E. Buzard has succumb to his injuries sustained from the collision. Buzard was pronounced at Strong Memorial Hospital on March 23, 2017.
This is still an active investigation.
