Poughkeepsie man charged with burglarizing LaGrange home during domestic dispute

LaGrange, New York – On March 23, 2017, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 42-year-old Brendan P. McGrath of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Burglary 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony, Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.
On March 23, 2017 at approximately 11:40 p.m., Troopers responded to a LaGrange residence for a reported domestic disturbance. The investigation indicated that McGrath forcibly entered the victim’s home. Troopers also learned that McGrath had driven to the victim’s home while he was intoxicated and had suspended driving privileges due to a pending DWI charge from October of 2016.
McGrath was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court before the Honorable O’Hara and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. McGrath’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 28, 2017 in the Town of LaGrange Court.
The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
