      Troop Commander

(Nanticoke, NY – March 29, 2017) On March 27, 2017, at about 11:05 a.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Daniel C. Hunsinger, age 25, of Whitney Point, NY for the misdemeanors of Criminal Mischief 4th degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

This arrest occurred after troopers responded to a Broome County 911 report of a dispute outside a home on State Route 26 in the Town of Nanticoke.  An investigation determined that a dispute occurred after Hunsinger had seen his wife drive by his home with their small child and pulled into a neighbor’s driveway.  Hunsinger then approached the vehicle and jumped on the hood which caused damage.  He also reached inside and removed his child from the car seat and held it.  After a short argument the victim was able to put their child back into the car and then drove away.  No one was injured during this dispute.

Hunsinger was arraigned in the Town of Nanticoke Court and was released without bail required.  An order of protection was issued against him on behalf of the victim and his next court date is pending.
