The New York State Police in Queensbury announce the arrests of Vittorio W. Campano, 25, and Christine W. Tomko, 27, both from Thurman, NY for Attempted Murder in the second degree and Robbery in the first degree after an investigation into the robbery and shooting which occurred at the Hague Market in Hague, NY the afternoon of April 25th.

The pair is accused of entering the market with intent to commit the crimes arrested for and shooting the clerk 4 times in an attempt to leave no witness.

Tips were received by officials soon after the incident was publicized and assistance from the public was solicited. This included video surveillance footage from the area which enabled investigators to identify a Pontiac Vibe vehicle with distinctive stickers that was possibly involved. That vehicle was spotted on the afternoon of April 27th and the occupants were detained and questioned.

Search warrants were then obtained to search a storage shed the two had access to, at which time items relative to the crime at the Hague Market along with up to 8 burglaries were found. Included in the items found was what is believed to be the small caliber handgun used in the shooting.

Campano and Tomko were arraigned this morning in the Town of Queensbury Court and sent to the Warren County Jail with a $1 million dollar bail being set.
