Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer

On August 31, 2017, the members of the New York State Police, SP Farmingdale, arrested Tyrone Moore, age 29, of 10 Pleasantview Court, Copiague, NY, following an incident which occurred on July 26, 2017, on the Southern State Parkway.

On July 26th, subsequent to a vehicle and traffic stop for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, Mr. Moore fled from the investigating Trooper, operating a 2012 black Honda Accord, traveling eastbound on the Southern State Parkway in excess of 100 MPH.  The pursuit traveled through Nassau County into Suffolk County, which was then terminated. Through an on-going investigation, with the assistance of the NYSP Troop L Gun Investigation Unit, Long Island Heroin Task Force (consisting of Suffolk, Nassau and NY State Police) and the U.S. Federal Marshals, Mr. Moore was located at the Budget Inn, 400 Carmen Mill Rd, Massapequa, and taken into custody at approximately 12:00 PM on August 31st.  Mr. Moore is charged with Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment 2nd, Driving While Intoxicated, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd , Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.  Moore is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, September 1st, in Nassau County 1st District Court.
