Help Truck struck while assisting Troopers at an accident scene on St -104 in Irondequoit.

PRESS RELEASE

This morning at approx 7:14am, Troopers Irland, Lander & the NYSDOT Help truck were onscene at a 1 car crash blocking the w/b left lane of ST-104 near Goodman St in Irondequoit when 38 year old  Desi A. Floyd of Rochester failed to observe the emergency vehicles and failed to reduce his speed in time striking the rear end of the Help truck. The HELP truck operator was in the driver's seat but was not injured. Mr. Floyd was treated by Ridge Culver fire and ambulance for a laceration to his hand but refused further medical treatment. Mr. Floyd was ticketed for the move over law (hazard vehicles - Amber lights) and for unsafe speed for special hazards returnable to Irondequoit Town Court on 10/18/17 @ 6pm.
