State Police Make Arrest in Moreau Shooting

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police are investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. on October 8, 2017.  The investigation has revealed that Michael Desnoyers, 35, of Laurel Road in the Town of Moreau, was shot outside his home after a dispute with a neighbor. 

State Police have arrested Joey M. Castro, 24, of Laurel Road, for Assault 1st degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree, both class "B" felonies.  He was arraigned in Moreau Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.

Desnoyers suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Albany Medical Center.  He is expected to survive.  The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.  Moreau EMS also responded to the scene.  The case remains under investigation.
