Ohio man arrested for driving on Suspended License and refusing to exit his vehicle subsequent to a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway.

Evans, NY - On October 11, 2017, at approximately 8:50 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90, in the Town of Evans for speeding. During the interview of the driver, identified as Muhammad Rizwan, age 65, of Hilliard, OH, it was determined that his driving privilege in New York State was suspended. After being placed under arrest for suspended license, Troopers requested Rizwan exit the vehicle at which time he became aggressive and refused all commands. Rizwan was forcibly removed from his vehicle and taken into custody. Rizwan was transported and processed at SP Buffalo, were he was subsequently charged with:
 
  • Resisting Arrest; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Disorderly Conduct; a Violation
  • Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor  
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree; a Unclassified Misdemeanor  
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations
 
Rizwan was arraigned in the Town of Evans Court and remanded to the Erie County Jail in lieu of $3000. Cash or Bond. Return court date of October 16, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Town of Evans Court has been set.
