State Police Arrest Riverhead Man for Sexual Assault
On October 13, 2017, at approximately 3:45 PM, a woman entered the State Police Riverside barracks and reported that her five year old son had been sexually abused by an adult male roommate. The incident occurred earlier in the week at a residence in Riverside, NY. Upon further investigation, the suspect was identified as Amilcar Alvarado, age 32, of Riverhead, NY. Mr. Alvarado was located and arrested by State Police members.

The defendant was charged with Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (B-Felony), Sex Abuse in the First Degree (D-Felony), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A- Misdemeanor). Mr. Alvarado was arraigned before the Honorable Deborah Kooperstein and was remanded to the Suffolk County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail. Mr. Alvarado is due back in court on October 17, 2017.
