January 13, 2018- SP Fonda

On January 11, State Police in Fonda arrested Michael P. Fitzpatrick Jr., 23, of Amsterdam for Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree. A vehicle Fitzpatrick was operating was stopped on Church St. in the City of Amsterdam after a traffic infraction was observed.  At the time of the stop Fitzpatrick was not in possession of any identification and provided the Trooper with a name and date of birth.  The Trooper advised him that providing a false name was a crime and Fitzpatrick was adamant that he was being truthful.  A subsequent investigation revealed he had provided the identity of another person to conceal the fact that his license was suspended. Fitzpatrick was arraigned in the City of Amsterdam Court and remanded to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of bail.
