Possible car fire leads to the arrest of the driver

 Major Robert E. Patnaude
 Troop G Commander

On 1/11/17, a State Trooper out of SP Latham responded to a possible car fire on Interstate 87 in the Town Colonie.   When the Trooper arrived on scene, it was determined that only the radiator was smoking and no fire.  As the Trooper checked  the driver Joshua Geier's driving record, his driving license privileges came back as suspended.   Upon placing Geier under arrest, he was also found to be in possession of illegal drugs.  He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 2nd.   Geier will answer to his charges at a later date.
