Massena man arrested for child abuse

On January 22, 2018, at approximately 10:10 p.m., State Police responded to a residence on Bucktown Road Extension in the town of Massena, for a report of a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, a male subject, later identified as Darryl S. Boshane, 22, of Massena, ran out of the residence through a back door. Troopers pursued Boshane, and he was taken into custody a short distance away. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest by the City of Ogdensburg Police Department.
An investigation revealed a 2-year-old child in the residence who was under Boshane’s care, with bruising, bite marks, and burns the child’s body. The child was taken to Massena Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries.
Boshane was first turned over to the City of Ogdensburg Police Department to be arraigned on the warrant. He was later charged by State Police with Assault 2nd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Boshane was arraigned in Canton Town Court, and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail, in lieu $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond.
