PRESS RELEASE

Niagara Falls man charged with criminal possession of marihuana.
 
On January 27, 2018, at approximately 11:13 am, State Police arrested Melvin Calhoun, 28, of Niagara Falls, NY, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana 4th Degree following a traffic stop on 11th St in the City of Niagara Falls.
 
Troopers stopped the vehicle Calhoun was operating for a turn signal violation, and following the stop, an odor of marihuana was emanating from inside the vehicle and a burning, “Blunt,” was observed in the ash tray.  Calhoun was then found in possession of over 4 ounces of marihuana.  Calhoun was charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana 4th, as well as, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd due to his driving privileges in New York State being currently suspended.  He was issued appearance tickets for the City of Niagara Falls Court.
