Bronx, NY man arrested for Possessing a Stolen Car after pursuit with State Police.

Ulster, NY - On January 27, 2018, at approximately 1:45 a.m., State Police attempted to stop a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Ulster for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. After multiple attempts to stop the vehicle the pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns. State Police continued checking the area for the vehicle and relayed all vehicle description information to adjoining State Police patrols. A short time later and in an adjoining patrol area State Police located the suspect vehicle parked on the shoulder of the roadway due to running out of gas. Two people were taken into custody, during further investigation at the scene Trooper’s determined the vehicle was reported stolen to the New York City Police Department. The driver Angel A. Figueroa, age 39, of Bronx, NY, was arrested and taken into custody. He was transported and processed at SP Kingston, were he was subsequently charged with:
 
  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree; a Class E Felony 
  • Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 7th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Multiple vehicle and traffic violations
 
Figueroa was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail and held in lieu of $50,000. Cash or $100,000. Bond. Next court date of January 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. has been set in the Town of Ulster Court.  The other party in the vehicle was not charged and was released.
