Woman arrested for bringing contraband into Clinton Correctional Facility

On January 28, 2018, at approximately 2:34 a.m., State Police responded to Clinton Correctional Facility in the village of Dannemora for a report of a visitor found in possession of prison contraband. An investigation revealed that a visitor, Brittnay Weston, 22, of Jamaica, NY brought a quantity of marijuana and suboxone strips into the prison.
Weston was arrested and charged with Introducing Dangerous Contraband into Prison 1st degree, (D felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, (D felony), Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th degree (A misdemeanor), Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.
Weston was arraigned in the Village of Dannemora Court where she was remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail, or $5,000 bond.
