One-car crash leads to Felony DWI arrest

On February 2, 2018, at approximately 1:52 a.m. State Police responded to a report of a one car crash on County Route 5 in Moira.
An investigation revealed that a 2001 Pontiac Aztek driven by 61-year-old Arthur P. Horton Jr., of Dickinson Center, had crashed his vehicle into a fenced-in yard at 2270 County Route 5, and then hid behind the Moira Fire Department building until he was discovered by responding troopers.
Horton was placed under arrest for DWI. His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18%. He was also found to have previously been convicted of DWI. He was charged with Felony DWI, Aggravated DWI, and further ticketed for failure to keep right and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Horton was arraigned at the Town of Malone Court and remanded to the custody of the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail, or $4,000 bond. He is to reappear on a later date in the Moira Town Court.
