Man from West Winfield arrested for felony assault and criminal mischief after dispute

(Plainfield, NY – February 16, 2018) On February 14, 2018, at about 7:50 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Quintin J. Kemp, age 33, from West Winfield, NY for the felony of Assault 2nd degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Mischief 4th degree.
This arrest occurred after troopers responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a dispute that had occurred earlier at a home on County Highway 18A, in the town of Plainfield. An investigation determined that during a verbal dispute with his wife, Kemp threw a cellphone at her which struck her in the face, and caused a laceration. He also caused damaged to a flat screen television that was worth more than $250.00. The victim was treated for her injuries at a local hospital and released.
Kemp was arraigned in the town of Richfield Court, and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $2500 cash bail or $5000 property bond. An order of protection was issued against him on behalf of the victim. Kemp’s next court date in the town of Richfield is on February 21, 2018.
