Erie resident charged with multiple offenses following traffic stop

On February 17th, 2018, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Matthew Ebach, 21 of Erie, PA, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Ebach was pulled over on I-86 in Jamestown for speeding and while speaking to Ebach, the Troopers observed marijuana evidence in plain view. A search of Ebach’s vehicle revealed 24 grams of marijuana, two bongs containing marijuana residue and just under three grams of psilocybin. Ebach was placed under arrest subsequent to the location of the drug evidence and upon failure of SFSTs. Ebach was evaluated at SP Jamestown by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert, processed, and released with tickets directing him to appear in the town of Ellicott Court on a later date.
