Troopers from Latham arrest man for crack

In the evening of February 23, 2018, a Latham Trooper stopped a white Jeep for driving with no headlights, northbound on I-87 in the Town of Colonie. The odor of burnt marihuana was detected from within the vehicle, and with help from a second Trooper who arrived, the driver and passenger were removed and searched. The passenger, identified as Kyle C. Hooper (Age 25), was found to be in possession of a clear glass pipe containing burnt crack cocaine residue. He also admitted to having marihuana in the vehicle, which was found. Hooper was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He was processed without incident and released, set to return to the Colonie Town Court on February 28, 2018.
