********UPDATED INFORMATION / NAME RELEASED****** State Police are continuing their investigation into a one-person fatal accident on I-287 in the Town of Harrison, Westchester County.

Harrison, NY – On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at approximately 7:33 p.m., State Police responded to the area of I-287, eastbound near mile post marker 6.9, in the Town of Harrison, for a report of a fatal accident.
Investigation at the scene revealed the driver of a box truck John P. Riofrio, age 48 of New York City, was traveling eastbound on I-287 when he collided with another vehicle. After the collision John P. Riofrio then lost control of his truck and traveled off the roadway over the southern shoulder and through the guiderail. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest in a small stream. Mr. Riofrio was located deceased at the scene by emergency personnel. The two passengers in the box truck were William N. Feliciano, age 24, of NYC who was treated at the scene for minor injuries and Salvador Salazar Carrillo, age 29 of Astoria, NY who was transported to Westchester Medical for treatment of minor injuries. The operator of the other vehicle was not injured. Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU), Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU) and DEC all assisted on the scene.
