On Saturday night, a New York State Trooper from the Albany Thruway barracks conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of two men.  Troopers say that Juan Fuente-Ramirez was traveling north on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Coeymans with his passenger, Rafael Ramirez, when he was stopped for vehicle and traffic law violations.  During the roadside investigation, the Trooper conducting a vehicle search revealed that Fuente-Ramirez, age 24, and his passenger, Ramirez, age 29, both of the City of Albany possessed cocaine, and several fake credit/debit cards.  Another Trooper on scene took Ramirez into custody without incident, while Fuente-Ramirez fled on foot.  Ramirez was charged with Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree - Intent to Sell, and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, all felonies.  He was arraigned in the Town of Coeymans Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail on $10,000 cash bail/$20,000 bond and is due in court at a later date.  On Sunday evening, April 9th, Fuente-Remirez turned himself in to Troopers.  In addition to a number of vehicle and traffic violations, he was charged with Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree - Intent to Sell, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, all felonies, and Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree, both misdemeanors.  He was arraigned this morning in the Town of Coeymans Court, and remanded to the Albany County Jail on $25,000 cash bail/$25,000 bond.  Fuente-Ramirez is due back in court at a later date.
