Amherst man charged with assault after altercation in Aldi's parking lot

On April 7, 2018 Troopers responded to a report of a fight in the Aldi's parking lot, Clarence NY. Investigation revealed that a 53-year-old male and his fiancé were walking in front of the store when Raed Saleh approached in a vehicle. A verbal altercation ensued after it was alleged that Saleh drove to close to the pedestrian. During the verbal altercation Saleh bumped the pedestrian with his vehicle. The argument continued and culminated with Saleh exiting his vehicle and striking the pedestrian with a baseball bat. Saleh left the scene and was arrested at his home. Saleh was charged with Assault 2nd - D Felony, Criminal Mischief 4th - A Misdemeanor, Endangering the Welfare of a Child - A Misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th - A misdemeanor. He was arraigned in Clarence Town Court and released with a return court date.
