Schenectady, NY man arrested for possession of Marihuana and Hallucinogen mushrooms subsequent to a traffic stop.

PRESS RELEASE




Tuxedo, NY – On April 9, 2018, at approximately 11:45 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Tuxedo for vehicle and traffic violations. During the interviewing of the driver Kamal A. Patel, age 34, of Schenectady, NY probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the subsequent search of the vehicle, approximately 8 grams of concentrated cannabis was located along with approximately 2 grams of Hallucinogen Mushrooms. The driver was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where he was subsequently charged with:  
 
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor, (1 count)   
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (Hallucinogen mushrooms) 1 count
  • Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a violation (2-counts)   
  • Vehicle and traffic violations
    
 
Patel was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court, no bail information or return court date available at this time.
