Malone man arrested following weapon investigation

On April 9, 2018, State Police arrested 62-year-old Douglas T. Stickney of Malone following an investigation into an illegally owned firearm. Stickney was found in possession of a sawed-off shotgun with the serial number defaced. The barrel had been modified to less than 18 inches and it had been given a handmade pistol grip.
Stickney was charged with one count each of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He was arraigned in the Town of Malone Court and remanded to the Franklin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
