Vermont woman arrested for felony weapon possession in Champlain

On April 9, 2018, State Police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 11 in the town of Champlain, on a vehicle with inadequate stop lamps.
Subsequent to the traffic stop, Teala L. Girard, 22, of Richford, Vermont was arrested after she was found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana as well as an electronic stun gun. Girard was found to have a previous felony conviction in Vermont. She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Girard was arraigned in the Town of Champlain Court where she was released on her own recognizance.
