Drugs recovered from Greene residence

(Greene, NY – April 10, 2018) – New York State Police at Greene removed a large quantity of marijuana from a residence on Hogsback Rd., in the town of Greene. On March 30, 2018 at approximately 5:55 p.m., troopers arrested Christopher J. Phillips, age 51 of Greene, NY for the felony of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd degree, the Public Health Law misdemeanor of Unlawful Grow of Cannabis and the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.
State Troopers were dispatched by the Chenango County 911 Center to check the welfare at a female at the home on Hogsback Rd. After they were invited inside the home, troopers observed several marijuana plants growing inside the residence. An investigation revealed that the marijuana plants belonged to Phillips. Troopers also located numerous storage totes of dried marijuana, marijuana seeds, lists of seeds used to grow and a canister containing suboxone. Investigators also located a grow room inside the shed with two cannabis plants.
Phillips was subsequently arrested. He was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the town of Greene Court on April 12, 2018.
