On April 6, 2018, members from New York State Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and New York State Police uniform members from SP Sidney and SP Binghamton arrested Matthew J. Mazepa, 36, Harpursville, NY, in the City of Binghamton on active felony bench warrants from Chenango County Court.  As the result of the investigation, Mazepa was found to be in possession of a DPMS LR-308 semi-automatic assault rifle with scope and tripod, five ounces of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, marihuana, ammunition for the .308 rifle and drug paraphernalia.  Mazepa was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 2nd (AII felony), Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd (B felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (D felony) (two counts), Tampering with physical evidence (E felony), Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (A misdemeanor) (two counts) and Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor).  Mazepa was arraigned in the City of Binghamton Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
