On May 16th, 2018 at approximately 10:00 A.M., the New York State Police in Bath responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Ct. Rt. #119 in the town of Cameron, which claimed the life of a Canisteo man.
The investigation revealed that a south-bound vehicle operated by Nance A. Russell, age 52, also of Canisteo, N.Y., was pronounced dead at the scene by Steuben County Coroner Steve Copp.
Ambulance and Fire Departments from Cameron and Canisteo responded to the scene and extricated the victims and provided first aid.  Herbert was airlifted from the scene by LifeNet helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Also assisting at the scene, was the Steuben County Sheriff's Department.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.
