PRESS RELEASE                                               

   On June 4, 2018 at approximately 2:53pm members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) and uniform members from Troop C SP Binghamton conducted a vehicle and traffic stop in the area of the on ramp to ST-17 west from Airport Road in the Village of Johnson City, Broome County. A hidden compartment was located within the vehicle which was found to contain approximately 2 ounces of powder Fentanyl, numerous Oxycodone tablets, approximately 3.5 grams of powder heroin, digital scale, packaging material, 1 suboxone strip, 23 Fentanyl strips, less than 25 grams of marihuana and $5,945.00 in US Currency. As a result of the traffic stop members of CNET arrested the following individuals:
 
Coren M. Walker, age 27, of the Bronx, NY. for 2 counts CPCS 3rd (Class B felony), 2 counts CPCS 5th (Class de Felony) and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor).


 
Scott R. Layton, age 40, of Johnson City, NY. for 2 counts CPCS 3rd (Class B Felony), 2 counts CPCS 5th (Class D felony), Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (Violation)

 
Giovanni R. Foster, age 24, Johnson City, NY. for 2 counts CPCS 3rd (Class B felony), 2 counts CPCS 5th (Class de Felony) and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor).

 
All 3 defendants were arraigned at the Broome County Central Booking Facility and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
