July 10, 2018-SP Cobleskill

On July 9, 2018, the New York State Police in Cobleskill arrested Kyriakos Tamanas, age 60, of Gilboa, NY for Criminal Possession of a Firearm and an Environmental Conservation Law of Illegally Discharging a Firearm.
Troopers were initially dispatched to the Town of Gilboa for a subject firing a handgun from the front porch residence towards a wooded area.  Investigation revealed that Tamanas discharged two rounds near a public highway, however no information was developed to indicate that he placed any person or property in danger.  Tamanas, who does not possess a valid New York State Pistol Permit, was found to illegally possess two handguns which were recovered by Troopers during the investigation.
Tamanas was arrested for the Class E Felony of Criminal Possession of a Firearm in addition to Illegally Discharging a Firearm.  He was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Gilboa Court at a later date.
