Troopers find drugs after traffic stop in Chenango

(Chenango, NY – July 10, 2018) – On July 9, 2018 at approximately 3:27 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Christopher T. O’Brien, age 22, of Queens, NY for two counts of the felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, the felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance of a 4th degree, two counts of the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and was issued several traffic tickets.
A trooper monitoring traffic on Interstate 81 in the town of Chenango observed O’Brien operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. After an investigation, troopers located ketamine, acid, cocaine, MDMA, THC wax, THC oil and marijuana. O’Brien was subsequently arrested and arraigned at Broome County Central Arraignment. He was remanded to the Broom County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
