Coventry woman gives troopers false information, arrested

PRESS RELEASE

(Coventry, NY – July 11, 2018) – On July 9, 2018 at approximately 5:39 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Stephanie M. Spathelf, age 43, of Coventry, NY for misdemeanors of Making a Punishable False Written Statement and Obstructing Governmental Administration. 
 
On July 1, at approximately 4:58 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a one car vehicle rollover on State Highway 7 in Colesville.  When they arrived, no one was in the vehicle.  Spathelf told troopers someone else was driving the vehicle.
 
After an investigation, troopers learned that Spathelf was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.  She was arrested on July 9, arraigned at Central Arraignment and released on her own recognizance.
