On August 11, 2018 troopers from the Sand Lake station arrested 37-year-old Ryan W. Acomb for DWI and Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., troopers responded to SR-66 in the Town of Sand Lake for a 911 report of an erratic vehicle.

Upon arrival, a vehicle matching the description was observed driving erratically and crossing the center markings.  A traffic stop was conducted and upon interviewing the operator, Acomb, several indicators of alcohol involvement were observed.  Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and he was placed under arrest for DWI.

Acomb was transported to the station where a breath sample was provided resulting in a .12% blood alcohol concentration.  Additionally, a license check indicated that he was operating with a suspended license for previous alcohol offenses.  He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, an E Felony and traffic violations.  He was arraigned in the Town of North Greenbush Court and released to appear in the Town of Sand Lake Court at a later date.
