Troopers investigate fatal accident in Wayne County

PRESS RELEASE


On October 1, 2018, at approximately 11:36 P.M., the State Police in Lyons responded to a serious accident on Blue Cut Road in the town of Arcadia, Wayne County.  Jeremy Taylor, age 17, from Newark was operating a vehicle westbound on Blue Cut Road in the Town of Arcadia, when the vehicle, for an unknown reason, left the roadway off the north shoulder and struck a sign post and then a telephone pole.  The vehicle overturned and came to final rest on its roof.
Taylor was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.  The passenger, Deven Jackson, age 16, from Red Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
