State Police arrest Oppenheim man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon

On September 30, 2018, State Police in Fonda arrested 45-year-old Daniel A. Nellis Sr. of Oppenheim for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.
On September 30, 2018, during the investigation into the disappearance of 21-year old Michaela MacVilla,  Nellis was found to be in possession of firearms that he could not legally possess. Nellis was subsequently placed in custody and charged with the above offenses. He was arraigned and lodged in the Fulton County Jail on $25,000 cash/ $50,000 bond. These charges are unrelated to the MacVilla investigation.
