SP Richfield Springs troopers make arrests in September liquor store burglary

(Richfield Springs, NY - October 4, 2018) - New York State Police at Richfield Springs have arrested two people in connection with a burglary at Park View Liquor on Main Street in the Village of Richfield Springs. A several week-long investigation included numerous interviews by troopers and it led to the apprehension of the two 19-year-olds.
Troopers originally received the complaint on September 6, 2018 just after 6 a.m., when a concerned resident told them the glass door of the liquor store was broken. Troopers learned that four bottles of liquor were stolen, totaling approximately $150. The damage to the door was valued at approximately $495.
Tyler S. Hotaling, age 19 of Richfield Springs, NY was arrested on October 3, 2018 at approximately 11:10 a.m. He’s been charged with the felonies of Burglary in the third degree and Criminal Mischief in the third degree. Hotaling was arraigned in the Village of Richfield Court where he was released on his own recognizance and will reappear on November 27, 2018.
Richard T. Herron III, age 19 of Jordanville, NY was arrested on October 4, 2018 at approximately 11:30 a.m. He was charged with the felony Burglary in the third degree. Herron was arraigned in the Village of Richfield Court where he was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to reappear on November 27, 2018.
