Syracuse Man charged with using elderly victim's stolen credit card

PRESS RELEASE



State Police in Lysander arrested Samy C. Guindy, age 30, of Reed Street Syracuse, NY for (2) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree (E Felony) and (1) count of Identity Theft 2nd Degree (E Felony) as a result of a joint investigation with the town of Cicero Police Department. 
 
Guindy is accused of utilizing a stolen credit card belonging to an elderly victim to make cash withdrawals from ATM machines in Onondaga County.  Guindy was charged in Syracuse City Court and Clay Town Court. Guindy was also charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana 3rd Degree (E Felony), after an investigation revealed he allegedly sold more than 25 grams of marijuana to an individual moment before his arrest.
 
State Police were assisted in this investigation by town of Cicero Police Department and city of Syracuse Police Department.
