Update: State Police investigate an assault in Black Brook

Update: On October 12, 2018, Dr. Eric Gorman performed an autopsy on Zindler at the University of Vermont Health Network at CVPH. Dr. Gorman determined Zindler's death to have been caused by a stabbing to the left side of his chest. Clinton County Coroner David Donah ruled the manner of death as a homicide.
A 14-year-old is currently in custody and is charged as a Youthful Offender with Murder 2nd degree. The youth will be arraigned in the Clinton County Youth Part Court. This case is being prosecuted by the Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie.
This case remains under investigation by State Police and the Clinton County Sheriffs Office.
Original release: On October 11, 2018, at around 11 a.m. State Police responded to a report of an assault on O’Hara Road in the town of Black Brook. Clinton County Sheriff deputies arrived on scene first and placed a subject in custody.
A victim was transported to the University of Vermont Healthcare Network at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh. The victim was pronounced deceased.
There is is no threat to public safety at this time.
The scene is currently being processed by State Police and the investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Clinton County Sheriffs Office.
