PRESS RELEASE

Update: The person found deceased in the Crest Inn and Suites in Wilton on October 10, 2018, has been identified as Michael Kornacki, age 61, who was residing at the motel.

The circumstances regarding Kornacki's death remain under investigation. State Police have definitively ruled out any connection between his death and the owners of the business, and the business itself.

Further updates will be posted on the State Police online newsroom.

New York State Police are investigating a suspicious death in town of Wilton
 
The New York State Police in Wilton are investigating a death at the Crest Inn and Suites on Route 9 in Gansevoort, NY.
 
On October 10, 2018, State Police were called to the address for a report of an unattended death. Following the preliminary investigation, the death has been ruled to be suspicious.
 
At this time, the death does not have any connection to the owners of the business, or the business itself.  
 
The victim’s identity is not being released at this time, any updates will be posted on the State Police Online Newsroom.
