For Planning Purposes Only: The New York State Police is hosting a three-day Campus Sexual Assault Seminar at the State Police Academy in Albany.

The seminar, which is organized by the State Police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit, has more than 300 attendees including members of the law enforcement community; campus public safety; Title IX coordinators; campus administrators, faculty and staff; victim advocates; medical professionals; prosecutors, and attorneys among other stakeholders.

During the event, participants will hear from experts presenting on a number of topics including the investigation of sexual assault cases, victim trauma and forensic interviewing, crossing gender barriers, and a culturally conscious response to sexual assault.

A media availability will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10 am at the State Police Academy, Building 24 on the Harriman State Office Campus. At 10 am, media will be allowed into the auditorium to take video or still photos of the seminar. Following the photo opportunity, a member of the State Police will be available for interviews at 10:20 am.
