Underage detail results in one ticket for selling alcohol to minor

PRESS RELEASE

(Otsego County, NY - October 22, 2018) – On October 18, 2018 New York State Police conducted an underaged drinking operation in Otsego County, NY.  Underage and undercover subjects are sent into retail establishments which sell alcohol and the State Police hope to ensure that store clerks are complying with the law prohibiting the sale of alcohol to minors. 
 
Thirteen establishments were checked and only one was not in compliance.  Mary E. Squires, age 33 of Middlefield, NY was working at the Apple Mart in Cooperstown and did sell alcohol to an underaged person.  She was issued an appearance ticket for the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Law of Sale of Alcohol to a Minor, a misdemeanor.  She is scheduled to appear in the town of Hartwick Court on October 24, 2018.
