October 27, 2018-  SP Princetown

On October 24th, Troopers in Princetown were alerted to a possible motor vehicle accident on Interstate 890 in the Town of Rotterdam. Upon arrival, the Troopers observed obvious signs of an accident including an oil leak on the roadway.  Troopers followed the oil leak which led to a residence on Wilson St. in the City of Schenectady. In the driveway of the residence they located a vehicle with recent damage. Troopers interviewed Michael J. Mercier Jr. at the residence. Mercier admitted to operating the vehicle and being involved in the accident. As Troopers interviewed Mercier they observed signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and Mercier was ultimately arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. A breath test was conducted which determined Mercier’s blood alcohol content to be .10%. Mercier is scheduled to appear in the Town of Rotterdam Court on November 5th at 4:00 p.m.
