PRESS RELEASE

(Binghamton, NY - October 31, 2018) - An 11-year-old boy remains in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on State Route 7 and Frederick Street in the City of Binghamton.  The boy is identified as Jariah Durgala. 

An investigation revealed that Durgala was crossing State Route 7, in an active work zone when he was struck by an SUV.  Medical personnel, State Police and Binghamton City Police were all on scene within minutes of the accident.  He was transported by Superior Ambulance to Wilson Memorial Hospital then later air lifted to Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse.

The investigation is on-going.  No tickets have been issued at this time.
