New Jersey pair arrested for possession of Cocaine and Marihuana subsequent to a traffic stop.

 Edwin A. Mendez    Erick M. Cuesto 



Woodbury, NY – On October 31, 2018, at approximately 3:43 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Woodbury for vehicle and traffic violations. During the interviewing of the driver Edwin A. Mendez, age 35, of Dumont, NJ in regards to the traffic violations, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the searching the vehicle and one of its passengers Erick M. Cuesto, age 30, of Clifton, NJ, approximately 82 grams of cocaine and approximately 1 gram of marihuana were located. Both men were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh and subsequently charged with:  
 
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (with intent to sell)   
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (narcotic drug)  
  • Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a Violation (Mendez only)  
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations (Mendez only)  
  
 
Both Mendez and Cuesto were arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court, no bail information or return court date available at this time.
