On October 31st, 2018, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Stephen Trusel, 32, of Gerry, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, Harassment 2nd Degree, Reckless Driving and multiple traffic violations.

The Troopers responded to a residence in Ellington for a report of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that Trusel pushed the female victim in the presence of a child prompting the victim to call 911. Trusel then fled the scene but was later observed by Troopers on Gerry-Ellington Road. A traffic stop was attempted but the Troopers but Trusel failed to comply and a pursuit was initiated. Trusel crashed his vehicle and fled the accident scene. Trusel was located later in the day and placed under arrest. Trusel was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the town of Ellery Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
