Kingston, NY man arrested for possessing over 1 pound of Marihuana subsequent to a traffic stop.

Woodbury, NY – On November 5, 2018, at approximately 11:35 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the Town of Woodbury for vehicle and traffic violations. During the Trooper’s interview of the driver for the traffic violations probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The driver, Erick J. Blanding, age 41, of Kingston, NY was found to be in possession of approximately 1.06 pounds of Marihuana. Blanding was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh where he was subsequently charged with:   
 
  • Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd degree; a Class D Felony
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations
 
Blanding was arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court. No bail information or return court date available at this time. A passenger in the vehicle was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marihuana and released without further charges.
