PRESS RELEASE

(Troop C – November 6, 2018) – The following individuals were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated or Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs from Thursday, October 25, 2018 to Sunday, November 4, 2018:
 
October 25, 2018 at about 10:03 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Anthony M. Forte, age 38 of Otego, NY for the felonies of Driving While Intoxicated (previous DWI conviction within last 10 years) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree.  Troopers were dispatched to Taco Bell in the town of Oneonta for a suspected drunk driver. An investigation revealed that Forte had been driving intoxicated.  His reportable B.A.C was .16%.  He was arrested and later arraigned in the town of Oneonta Court.  Forte’s next court appearance is November 13, 2018.

On October 26, 2018 at about 11:01 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Ryan M. Wescott, age 38 of Union, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .10%.  Troopers at a DWI Checkpoint on State Route 26 town of Union determined Wescott was intoxicated.  He was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Union Court on November 13, 2018.  Wescott was later turned over to a sober third party.

October 26, 2018 at approximately 11:31 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Neil J. Cornell, age 48 of Owego for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, with a reportable B.A.C of .19%.  Troopers at a DWI Checkpoint on State Route 26 in the town of Union determined that Cornell was intoxicated.  He was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Union Court on November 13, 2018. Cornell was later turned over to a sober third party.

On October 27, 2018 at approximately 4:52 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Mary J. Ecker, age 63 of Ithaca for the misdemeanor of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Alcohol.  A trooper on patrol observed Ecker was not wearing her seatbelt and initiated a traffic stop.  An investigation revealed Ecker was impaired.  She was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Ithaca Court on November 8, 2018.

On October 27, 2018 at approximately 10:14 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Philip J. Oleniacz, age 41 of Montrose, PA for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .11%.  A trooper stopped the vehicle Oleniacz for an equipment violation.  The trooper determined Oleniacz was impaired and he was arrested.  He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Union Court on November 2, 2018 then turned over to a sober third party.

On October 28, 2018 at approximately 3:16 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Sarah E. Cunningham, age 25 of Colesville, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .13%.  Troopers on patrol observed the vehicle Cunningham was operating without any headlights while driving on Court Street in the City of Binghamton.  A traffic stop was initiated and she was arrested.  Cunningham was released on appearance tickets and will appear in the City of Binghamton Court November 9, 2018.

On October 28, 2018 at approximately 4:08 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Dillon J. Kemmerer, age 25 of Johnson City, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .15%.  Troopers on patrol performed a welfare check on Kemmerer after they observed his vehicle parked sideways across three parking spots at the Speedway in Unadilla.  An investigation led them to determine that Kemmerer drove to the gas station in an intoxicated state.  He was arrested and subsequently released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Unadilla Court on November 19, 2018.  He was then turned over to a sober third party.

On October 28, 2018 at about 5:48 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Travis M. Wilcox, age 40 of Glen Aubrey, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .08%.  A trooper monitoring traffic on State Route 17, in the town of Hancock observed the vehicle Wilcox was traveling in to be speeding.  A traffic stop was initiated and the trooper’s investigation revealed that Wilcox should not be operating a vehicle.  He was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Hancock Court on November 12, 2018.  Wilcox was then turned over to a sober third party.

On October 28, 2018 at about 6:34 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Corey R. Curyto, age 24 of Union, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .10%.  Troopers responded to an accident on Buckingham Road in the town of Union where Curyto struck a curb and a shed.  After an investigation, Curyto was arrested and later released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Union Court on November 20, 2018.  He was then turned over to a sober third party.

On October 28, 2018 at approximately 5:08 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Joanne V. Sweeney, age 57 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  She was also issued several traffic tickets, including one for Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.  A trooper on patrol observed Sweeney not wearing a seatbelt and also commit several other traffic infractions.  She was subsequently stopped and an investigation revealed Sweeney was impaired.  She was arrested and arraigned in the town of Ithaca Court.  A judge released Sweeney on her own recognizance and gave her the next court date on November 14, 2018.

On October 29, 2018 at about 9:15 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Thomas J. Demulder, age 23 of Milford, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .11 %.  A trooper on patrol observed the vehicle Demulder was operating speeding while on State Route 23 in the town of Davenport then turn left at a red arrow.  A traffic stop was initiated and he was subsequently arrested.  Demulder was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Oneonta Court on November 6, 2018. He was then released to a sober third party.

On October 29, 2018 at about 2:17 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Walter J. McIntyre, age 50 of Owego, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .13%.  A trooper was dispatched to a report of a vehicle disabled and in a ditch on State Route 434 in the town of Owego.  After an investigation, McIntyre was arrested and issued appearance tickets to appear in the town of Owego Court on November 13, 2018.

On October 30, 2018 at about 11:18 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Kristin J. Johnston, age 44 of Fenton, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (prior conviction within 10 years) with a reportable B.A.C of .14%.  A trooper monitoring traffic on Nowlan Road in the town of Fenton observed the vehicle Johnston was traveling in fail to stop at a stop sign.  The vehicle was stopped and Johnston was determined to be impaired.  She was subsequently arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Fenton Court on November 8, 2018.  Johnston was later released to a sober third party.

On October 31, 2018 at about 11:03 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Daulton J. Sheldon, age 24 of Cortland, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .09% and the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  A trooper initiated a traffic stop on State Route 13 in the town of Dryden after he observed a vehicle following another vehicle too closely.  An investigation revealed that he was intoxicated and also in possession of marijuana.  He was subsequently arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Dryden Court on November 12, 2018.

On November 1, 2018 at about 1:52 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Douglas R. Lindberg, age 25 of Windsor, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .17%.  Troopers were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch on Interstate 86 in the town of Windsor.  When troopers arrived, they observed Lindberg attempted to drive his car out of the ditch.  An investigation revealed he was intoxicated and he was arrested.  Lindberg was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Windsor Court on November 14, 2018.  He was then turned over to a sober third party.

On November 2, 2018 at approximately 11:50 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Alan E. Furgeson, age 44 of Fenner, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .12%.  A trooper observed the vehicle Furgeson was operating fail to stop at a stop sign on Depot Hill Road in the town of Fenton.  An investigation revealed Furgeson was intoxicated and he was arrested.  He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Fenton Court on November 8, 2018.  Furgeson was later turned over to a sober third party.

On November 3, 2018 at about 1:08 a.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Patrick D. Reynolds, age 42 of Owego, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .18%.  Troopers observed Reynolds to be speeding in his vehicle while on Pennsylvania Avenue in the town of Owego.  A traffic stop was initiated and he was subsequently arrested for DWI.  He was released to a sober third party and is scheduled to appear in the town of Owego Court on November 27, 2018.

On November 3, 2018 at about 10:05 p.m., New York State Police at Greene arrested Shannon K. Taylor, age 19 of Lisle, NY for the misdemeanor of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Drugs and the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  A trooper on patrol observed the vehicle Taylor was operating fail to stop at a stop sign on South Canal Street in the village of Greene.  A traffic stop was initiated and the trooper determined Taylor was impaired.  She was later released to a sober third party and is ordered to appear in the village of Greene Court on November 8, 2018.

On November 3, 2018 at about 10:35 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Jamie S. Simpson, age 51 of Conklin, NY for the class D felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction in the last 10 years).  He was also issued traffic tickets, including one for Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.  A trooper observed the vehicle Simpson was operating crossing over the double yellow lines on multiple occasions while on Route 11 in the town of Kirkwood.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation revealed he was too impaired to be operating a vehicle safely.  Simpson was arrested and subsequently arraigned at Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.  He was released on his own recognizance and turned over to a sober third party.

On November 3, 2018 at approximately 11:39 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Amanda K. Sellito, age 37 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .13%.  A trooper observed Sellito commit a traffic infraction while turning on to East Main Street in the village of Endicott.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation revealed Sellito was intoxicated.  She was arrested and subsequently released on appearance tickets returnable to the village of Endicott Court on November 14, 2018.  Sellito was later turned over to a sober third party.

On November 4, 2018 at about 2:15 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Arik T. Foley, age 24, of Vestal, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .19%.  Troopers observed the vehicle Foley was operating having difficulty maintaining a lane and speeding while in the city of Binghamton.  A traffic stop was initiated and troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  An investigation revealed Foley was too impaired to be operating a vehicle.  He was arrested and released on appearance tickets for November 16, 2018 in the city of Binghamton Court. Foley was later turned over to a sober third party.

On November 4, 2018 at about 11:47 a.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Jennifer A. Moody, age 25 of Endicott, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.  A trooper observed Moody to be operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed while on State Route 96 in the town of Candor.  A traffic was initiated and the trooper observed several signs commonly associated with alcohol intoxication.  After an investigation, she was arrested.  Her reportable B.A.C was .23%.  Moody was later released to a sober third party and will face her charges on November 12, 2018.

On November 4, 2018 at about 9:35 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Eugene W. Cronk II, age 26 of Roxbury, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .15%.  A trooper on patrol observed the vehicle Cronk II was operating commit a traffic infraction and to have an equipment violation while turning from State Highway 30 to County Highway 41 in the town of Roxbury. A traffic stop was initiated and the trooper observed several signs commonly associated with alcohol intoxication.  After an investigation, Cronk II was arrested and subsequently released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Roxbury Court on November 14, 2018.  He was later turned over to a sober third party.
