PRESS RELEASE

(Bainbridge, NY – November 6, 2018) - On October 31, 2018 at approximately 10:38 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Taylor J. Nelson, age 25 of Afton, NY for two counts of the felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree and the felony of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the first degree. He was also charged with the misdemeanors of Operating a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree.  
 
Troopers were dispatched to the Sunoco on County Route 39 in the town of Bainbridge to check the welfare of a male slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle.   Sunoco employees told troopers that they attempted to wake the man but couldn’t.  After an investigation, troopers determined he was impaired by drugs and was arrested for DWAI.  A further investigation revealed Nelson was in possession of a counterfeit $100 bill, suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items used to measure drug quantity.  Nelson was arraigned in the town of Bainbridge Court where he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on no bail.
